1. General introduction
This policy applies to all people providing personal information to Pest Free Kaipātiki Restoration Society (Inc.) (herein referred to as PFK).
PFK is committed to ensuring your privacy is protected and your information is only used appropriately. When you contact us or visit our website, we will handle your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 2020.
If we collect personal information from you, it is to keep you informed about environmental initiatives and events in Kaipātiki, keep track of any tools we lend you, for health and safety purposes and to improve the services we offer you. Providing some information is optional. If you choose not to provide certain information, this may affect the services we can provide. You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. When you contact us or one of the community partners we work with, visit our Tool Shed, or attend one of our events, we may collect your personal information such as your name, email, phone number, address, and health and safety information. This enables us to safely provide you with tools and services or connect you to relevant local environmental initiatives and events.
In addition, PFK is a registered Incorporated Society and as such, we may collect information from you that is required to meet our reporting obligations under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022.
We may also collect information when you visit our website, such as the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; email address; computer and connection information and online payment history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. This information allows us to track how we are doing and improve the online services and support we offer.
3. How we store your information and ensure it is secure
We are required to provide some aggregated data to our sponsors and partners when reporting to them on how we are doing, however PFK will not disclose, sell, rent or share your personal information to any third party.
PFK keeps your information safe by having all data stored securely behind private logins, use multi-factor authentication where possible and only allow authorised PFK team members access to it.
For online donations, we use third party payment platforms supplied by Wix and Stripe. Stripe processes payments using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the internet in a way that is designed to prevent unauthorised parties from intercepting data communications.
