Meet our Guest Speaker

Jacqui Knight from Moths and Butterflies of NZ Trust

Jacqui is the founding trustee of the Moths and Butterflies of NZ Trust, established in 2005 with the vision of ensuring that Aotearoa New Zealand's ecosystems support thriving moth and butterfly populations.

Jacqui used to be a freelance writer but spends more time today as ‘Madam Butterfly’ when she visits schools to talk about butterflies. She has been playing with butterflies ever since she can remember; taught all she knew to her two sons and three grandchildren too. Read more about her other adventures on her blog www.madambutterfly.co.nz.

"The sad thing is that most New Zealanders only recognise two butterflies (and they hate all moths). We're slowly doing something to rectify that!"

Jacqui will be talking about how we can plant to support and encourage our NZ butterflies and moths.
