August Predator Pulse 2019

We are almost all the way through the August predator pulse.

A pulse is a time during the year that we blitz predator control, specifically timed around times of food scarcity or to manage native bird or rodent breeding cycles.

It’s easy to contribute towards protecting our native wildlife – it can be as simple as placing a trap or bait station in the backyard.

Check out our halo programme to see if you qualify for a free trap in return for information on what you are catching or how much bait is eaten.

This year due to the recent masting season – we can encourage people to extend their pulse a little into September. The next is in November, February and April.

Visit our toolshed if you live in the Kaipātiki Local Board area and you need advice or access to resources to get started.
